It's again time to tell you the latest news.
I spent a bit more then one week in Fremantle. it's a beautiful place. It was good to stay for a while on one place to relax and that was what i did. I relaxed most of the time. I had a look around and had my car by a mechanic to fix my starter motor.
4.7.2007 Start in Fremantle
We started at about 3 pm in Fremantle and have been back in Fremantle at 6 pm cos Martin, one of my new travel mates, forgot his sleeping bag!
So, we started again and found a nice place a few km after Lancelin on a nice beach.
We have been for a swim in the next morning and started our adventure this day with 80km real four wheel driving. We drove on small tracks, on sandy tracks, on rocky tracks, in water and on a nice beach with about 3m space between the waves an a sand dune. it was good fun but on some parts also a bit frightening but we did well and drove further to the famous Pinnacles. I haven't much to say about the Pinnacles, just enjoy the pictures.
We stayed for night at sandy bay. A nice national park with a beautiful beach and only a bit asbestos.
It was also my mothers birthday which i sadly forgot. Sorry. On this way HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
We drove on this day to Kalbarri. The plan was to stay there for a night maybe in the national park but we had a look around and actually it's nothing to write home about. It's a beautiful coastline, but we missed the best spots.
So we decided to drive a bit further and stayed for night on a 24 hours campground on the Murchison River.
We had a overheating problem the next morning. We can't drive faster as 100km/h from that moment but that's alright. We drove any way not faster then 110km/h.

7.7.2007 Francis Peron NP (Shark Bay)
We arrived that day in Sharkbay and stayed 2 nights on a campground at the Big Lagoon. It's a quit and wonderful place, except the generator noise from our neighbours. We walked along the beach and swum in this beautiful water but not too long and not in deep water cos our neighbours told us that they saw about 20 tiger sharks when they went out with there boat and a story about there daughter who get sting from a stone fish. Two nice story's about two of the most dangerous animals in Australia.
9.7.2007 On the road again
We drove back to the highway and visited Hamelin Pool the place where you can find the Stromatolithen. The oldest life form which is still alive. This Stromatolithen builds this amazing stone sculptures.
We drove further north to Carnarvon where we stayed for one night and bought in the next morning a lot of food and more water carries for our inland trip to Mt Augustus and the Karijini national park. We drove not much this day. We found a free campground about 50km after Carnavon which calls Rocky Pool. beautiful spot for a swim only the flys have been annoying.
Hamelin Pool
11.7.2007 Mt Augustus
We arrived that day in a campground at the foot of Mt Augustus. We stayed there for two nights and have done a hike up to the top. It's a lovely track along a creek bed.
13.7.2007 The way to Karijini NP
We drove this day a cross the outback to our next spot, Karijini NP. It was fascinating to see how the landscape changes. It's not a big change but you can see the different about all 200km. The best was the cool red dust behind our car except the beautiful landscape. Once a really really red dust. just cool. We stayed for the night on a field a bit away from the street behind a little hill. Nice and quit. We arrived in Tom Price where we had a look around and saw a big iron mine from the top of Mt Nameless. That's the highest Mountain in Australia which you can drive just to the top of it. We found also a campground in the Karijini NP later that afternoon, where we stayed for 3 nights. It's an amazing national park whit absolute amazing gorges. Too beautiful to describe.
We started our 600 km trip back to the coast to Exmouth early in the morning which means at about 11am. We stayed once more for a night on a 24 hours campground and arrived on the 18Th of July Exmouth. I'll tell you a bit more about Exmouth in my next report. Just one thing. I finished this Friday my SSI open water diving course. I mean that's so Cool, isn't it? ;-)
