Exmouth - Broome

18.07.2007 Relaxing and Diving in Exmouth

We arrived this day in Exmouth where I booked straight away the last two dive course days. I was very happy that I could finish my course in the two following days. So I finished my course and booked also a three day trip to islands near Exmouth. I was very excited but the trip has been canceled so i did with Martin together a afternoon dive trip. That included two dives in the afternoon and one night dive. It was a cool trip but i missed a bit some high lights. I hadn't have a waterproof camera so i copied some pictures from the Internet from a few things I have seen under water at the Ningaloo Reef.

We stayed about 8 Nights in Exmouth. We have been two times to Cape Range National Park snorkeling. The first time at turquoise bay and the second time at lake site. Turquoise Bay is an amazing snorkeling spot. Beautiful turquoise water and the reef is just a few meters away from the beach, an absolute must.

27.07.2007 Millstream National Park

We left this day Exmouth and drove the few hundred km to Millstream NP. There are a couple nice tings to see. It's a bit a oasis surrounded from the outback. We discovered the area, also without tracks, and had a nice fresh bath in a nice pool.

29.07-31.07.2007 Our way to Broome

We hit the road again to make our way up to Broom. We stayed one night on a campground in a NP on the south end from the 80 Mile Beach calls Cape Keraudren. We stayed the next night about in the middle of the 80 Mile Beach at the 80 Miles Beach Caravan Park. A nice campground with a really really long beach but after you seen the Warning sign which warns you from the crocodiles, sharks, stone fish and sting rays you think twice before you go into the water, i didn't!
We arrived finally in Broome and it was exactly the first day when you can see the "Stairway To The Moon".

31.07-06.08.2007 Broome
We staying now in Broome. It's a wonderful place. Nice and warm and also a great beach, except the warning signs. We have been to the crocodile park which was a very good experience and we learnt a lot about this wonderful but also frightening animals. One of the important things we learnt was not to be scared about the crocodiles you see, be scared about the crocodiles you don't see! The saltwater crocodiles which are living in this area and in the whole Kimberley's can reach a lenght until about 7m. The biggest in the park are about 5m long.
Broome is a place with amazing sunsets and moon risings. I like this place but we have to keep going. We found already a new travel mate cos Christiane went back to Perth and from there back to Germany. Anna is also from Germany and is coming with Toni, Martin an me up to Darwin crossing the Kimberley's.
For all who seen the movie"Wolfs Creek", I'll tell you how it looks like there.
